Your problem is a Object/Relational Mapping (O/R) problem.
and the answer is not simple because there are several strategies to map an
inheritance link into a relational DB...
you should have a look on products that make the O/R mapping for you as
CocoBase or Toplink or...
or have a Object DB as Poet.

is Anyone know  opensource project on O/R mapping ?
