Hi
     There is a workaround for the problem u r facing if u r objective
     of using a Blob is to store a Serialized object in the database.
     This is given in the book "Enterprise Java Beans" by
     "Richard Monson - Haefel" published by O'reily in the chapter
     "Design Strategies" see "Mapping Serializable to Varbinary"

                 If u donot have a copy of the book send me a mail and i will
send
     u an example of how to do the same.

  I was searching for the very same thing. You'll find more info in the
weblogic news list for ejb. I don't have the URL right now, but you could
check at the beasys website.
I think Beasys official position is that you cannot use CMP to store a CLOB,
you'll have to use BMP.
