Inprise provides quite a bit of functionality in this space. In particular,
VisiBroker™ for MVS/OS390, which is our CORBA 2.3 product (VisiBroker™ 4.x)
running on the mainframe. Beyond full IIOP connectivity, this provides support
for distributed transactions, including two-phase commit transaction support
across mainframe resources and other XA-enabled resources. There are
enhancements to this product underway to provide connectivity to IMS and
CICS.
Furthermore, we are working on an implementation of the "female" side of
Sun's Connector specification, for our next major release. We are working
with one of the premiere EAI providers, who implement the "male" side of
the Connector contract. This combination of products will provide extensive
access to a large number of legacy systems, running both on the mainframe
and elsewhere. A Beta of this functionality should be available shortly.
