Ive searched the EJB 1.1 spec for the words "aware" and "capable" but do not
see there anywhere near persistance or this subject. What section and page
of the spec?
Im assuming they mean this.
A SessionBean is persistance aware because the container notifies it when
persistance is about to occur via ejbPassivate/ejbActivate callbacks.
However it cannot itself do the persistance that is done by the container.
An EntityBean is persistance capable because it can do the persistance
itself via the ejbLoad()/ejbStore() callbacks.
Again a guess becuase I cant see this section of the spec.
