if you are interested in such a topic, you can look at the "Extending
Transactions in Enterprise JavaBeans" paper, which is available at
http://nenya.ms.mff.cuni.cz/~prochazk/. Note that the concept of
transactions introduced in the paper has not been implemented yet, but a
small prototype will be hopefully available by the end of this year.
However, a lot of things have to be designed more precisely, especially
container managed transactions semantics.
