The exception is a transaction rollback because of a timeout. in the EJB
specification there is no declarative way to specify the timeout for a
transaction but some EJB servers offer a propriatary mechanism (Weblogic and
websphere for example)

Last time I looked into this, there was no was to set it as a global
property or in any DD or any other non-code way.
You need to get hold of the current UserTransaction and set it using
setTransactionTimeout(long)
It is possible there is now some way to do it declaratively
