<vendor> The jBoss application server is available as OpenSource, i.e.
free. You can download it (and the sources) from www.jboss.org.

jBoss is the easiest app server to use in the market today. 1 minute
install (i.e. unzip and go) and deploy by putting your beans in a
/deploy directory. If you do not want to configure your beans we will
apply reasonable defaults to everything.

jBoss has a tremendously active community (see jboss-user and jboss-dev
mailing lists, subscription info and archives at jboss.org), is being
packaged up by at least one company (XO3, see xo3.com), and will be used
by a number of ASP's/webhotels in the near future (whose names I can't
divulge at this time). It is also being used by a number of ISV's for
embedding into their products, and by a whole range of consultant-type
companies who want a good yet affordable app server.

Neither of which fits your requirements.

Save your sanity and try jBoss. Happiness guaranteed ;-) (and if you
have any problems at all, just send your queries to the jboss-user
mailing list. Replies usually comes within 10 minutes).
