That sounds interesting to me, and I promise I won't kill you if you do it ;)
We do want to provide a complete solution that is strong in every area and
integrated to maximize performance and simplicity for developers, but we still
think it's important for the J2EE platform that you can choose different
implementations for different parts of the J2EE puzzle.
In reality one size never fits all and if J2EE can really give you the option to
pick the pieces you want from the different vendors that is a very cool thing.

Yeah, I can understand that it's not your top priority to do this...
