With JavaBeans the performance will begin to dwindle the more and more hits you get. EJB won;t chew up the resouces on a computer life JavaBeans eventually will. If you don;t have a lot of hits on our web site, JavaBeans may be the way to go. Putting all the variable in Application Scope wouldn't be good either because that means everyone hitting your web site will share those variables. they will not be unique to every user, I think. Good use of variables at application scope would be for constants that all applicaitions would use. <reply> Oops, that's right, I meant session scope. Thanks for the answer and the correction. :) </reply> Zach -----Original Message----- From: Adena Galinsky To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 11/8/00 1:11 PM Subject: JavaBeans used in JSP's (application scope) vs Session Beans Our system uses stateful session beans to store information collected via a series of wizard screens. The JSP, after setting all the attributes of the session bean, calls the finish() method. The finish() method creates the relevant entity beans, persists the data etc. My question is: what, if any, is the advantage of using session beans for this purpose rather than using a JavaBean with application scope + a stateless session bean? Is one more reliable than the other, or faster than the other, or in some other way superior? Or is the choice merely a matter of style? -Adena ======================================================================== === To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and include in the body of the message "signoff EJB-INTEREST".
