Not primarily, but that is one of them. There are several equally
important issues why file I/O is a bad idea. Refer to the list archives
for extensive discussions on this.

Oh yes, beans running in a minimally compliant container are indeed
forcibly prevented from using I/O. If you try to perform any action that
is not allowed by the EJB spec you can expect a SecurityException to
being thrown.
