You are right in saying that the beans for a (read only ) operations might
be an overhead. But again, it depends on ur tradeoff between fast
development and fast execution (run time). Let us also not forget that a
container also uses pooling to give fast performance. Maybe, the session
bean can maintain the pool, in form of a vector or something, of recently
looked up beans. This will improve the performance further.
