Hi,
I just want to clarify the following though they might be
simple for experienced developers. I read my first book on EJB recently.
1. EJB 1.0 or 1.1 could't cascade delete. I read the 2.0 spec too. It
can. If this is true then what happens to the Referential Integrity of
the database. A master-detail table would be left with orphaned child
records if the master record is deleted by the container. How is this
handled? Is it that the JTS is at a low level that it can influence the
database code too?
2. One of the popular EJB books uses transactions from with a
servlet. Not the service method. The J2EE blueprint forbids this. It says
one can use transactions if it begins and ends within the service method
for obvious reasons. Multiple thread calls. What do you think?
3. How does RMI work with EJB containers? I mean that RMI has many
problems associated with DGC etc. Is it that the vendors have written
their own RMI implementations according to the spec. like NinjaRMI or
Voyager ?
bye,
Mohan
