Iaiq, it seems to me your question can be summarized as follows:

Q: Can I look up and use EJB's from within the onMessage() method of a
MessageDrivenBean?

A: Yes.  It is actually already a common pattern.  A lot of customers are looking
up and invoking Session and Entity beans from within MessageDrivenBeans.  They
also publish messages on other Topics/Queues from these MessageDrivenBeans (thus
resulting in "chained invokations").
