Yes it is, since the base class declares and implements the accessors. The good
point of that pattern is that when you switch to EJB 2.0, all you have to do is
remove the extends clause from your bean class and it should compile (almost)
right away (remember that the concrete implementation for your CMP accessors will
be generated by the Persistence Manager).
