No, I cannot clarify the EXACT criteria of this list because I am not
the list owner nor am I the list moderator. However, I can tell you my
opinion.

Yes, this is a place where questions about EJB concepts can be asked.
However, the lists are not meant to be places for tutorials on how to
use an API nor places for beginners to receive instruction on how to use
the APIs. That information is usually found in other on-line resources.
I provided several of those links my previous message. Both the Sun
tutorial
(http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Beans/EJBTutorial/index.html)
and the book at theServerSide.com
(http://theserverside.com/resources/book.jsp) have HelloWorld beans and
show how to write the client. In addition, your EJB server documentation
might have an example.

In addition, the mailing lists are not meant to be vendor-specific
forums. There has been some discussion in the last few days about how
this forum has too many vendor-specific questions. There are two reasons
that vendor specific question should not appear here: 1) There are
usually vendor specific forums, and 2) You can usually find a better
answer at the vendor-specific forum.

General net etiquette says that on a mailing list, one should lurk for
some time before posting a question. In this case, you can substitute
reading the last few weeks of posts in the archives for lurking. This
allows one to get a feel for the way the mailing list runs, and you get
a chance to see if anyone recently asked a similar question. Here's the
archive: http://archives.java.sun.com/archives/ejb-interest.html.

Questions regarding other Java topics or APIs are off-topic for EJB
Interest and should be posted elsewhere. Again this is because there are
forums devoted to those issues.

When you have a question that you need answered it is generally best to
try to find the answer elsewhere first. Search the last two or three
months of the archive. Check the FAQs at java.sun.com and www.jguru.com.
This should only take about 5-10 minutes. Then, if you haven't found an
answer, post your question.
