To my reading, the 1.1 & 2.0 specs say EJB methods can return legal RMI/IIOP
types

So what happens when I return an object that is of a type that extends
Remote

Is there anything I can safely assume about its lifecycle, state,
transactional context ?

I am guess no, but I though it might be illegal to even return a Remote
object

Have I misread things ?

Can anyone clarify ?

Thanks,
Matthew
