I entirely agree the timer function should be in J2EE, but I don't agree its
should be implemented with a new type of bean - it would be preferable to add
timed messages to JMS.

Ability to listen to multiple queues/topics, with APIs to dynamically control
what is listened to would be nice too, as Jubin Zawar suggested.

IMHO, though, the two biggest problems with MDBs are:

1. They are stateless. I'd like to see stateful MDBs.

2. An EJB is either an MDB or it isn't; it's either driven by messages
   or by RMI. It would be really useful for an MDB, SFSB, or even an
   Entity Bean to be able to fire off a JMS message and be woken up
   when the reply arrived.
