you can also use a Data Access Object(DAO), pass the connection to the
method you are using in the DAO(ex. update(Connection conn, DataModel
dModel)).
You can call the dao method from your session bean.

There's no need to pass around a java.sql.Connection to control
transactions. Use bean managed transaction demarcation and the
UserTransaction interface.
