I am not an expert in this area but want to add something to the thread since we are talking of entity beans and scalability. Only solution that appears to be working now (without corrupting the DB and providing scalability) is use BMP with checked updates. What happens to n+1 database quiries..........does the fat key pattern will work in cloned enviroment. If it doesnt anyway we have a very huge performance issue.
