Hi, Sorry if this question is kind of stupid but I'm wondering if there's such a thing as distributed two phase commit versus regular two phase commit. Scenario 1: one app server, two EJBs, two databases Scenario 2: two app servers, two EJBs, two dataases both scenarios need 2pc. for the first scenario i see one transaction manager and two resource managers. for the second scenario i see two transaction managers, two resource managers, and one coordinating transaction manager. is this a correct view of the situation? i've seen scenario 2 refer to as distributed 2pc. is there a difference? if a product says they support distributed transactions/2pc i would assume it can handle both scenarios, but maybe they only mean scenario 1? Thanks for the clarification.
