Hi Everyone,

<announce>
I would like to announce that the "beta" version of the 3rd edition of
my Enterprise JavaBeans book is now available for free -- or at least
the first 5 chapters - at O'Reilly (http://oreilly.techrev.org/). This
book is an update of my EJB book, Enterprise JavaBeans 2nd Edition
(O'Reilly 2000), which includes complete coverage of EJB 2.0. More
chapters will be added every week.

Ordinarily, at this time in the writing cycle my book would be in closed
technical review with leading industry experts. However, in a new
initiative O'Reilly is opening up the technical review draft of the
manuscript to the public so that you can download it and read it for
free. Its a great opportunity for you to start learning about EJB 2.0
early and to get a head of the curve. Hopefully you can help improve the
quality of the book by pointing out any technical errors or confusing
text. Of course, the book will still be reviewed by the top experts in
the field -- I would never abandon that protocol -- but we also want to
expose the book to as many eyes as possible. Even experts can miss
important technical errors.

Here is the URL.

Just register and then click on any chapter to download it. You can then
submit your comments by e-mail or by writing comments directly to the
techrev site. A word of warning: This site was put together pretty fast
so it still "a work in progress".

</announce>

Have fun!

Richard
