MVCSoft is pleased to announce the professional edition of its
Persistence Manager, available immediately. The MVCSoft
Persistence Manager is an implementation of container-managed
persistence as defined in the EJB 2.0 specification (proposed final
draft 2). This version supports JBoss, the open-source J2EE
application server. It implements CMP entity objects, relationships,
and the EJB 2.0 query language. It provides a Swing-based GUI
mapping tool, online help, and an ant task. It is able to map
relationships with foreign keys or a relationship table, and provides
important performance features such as load-on-demand, fault
groups, and pre-loaded data based on finder queries. The MVCSoft
Persistence Manager comes with full source code to every
component, from the runtime library to the code generator to the
mapping tool. You can redistribute the runtime component with no
royalty costs or additional licenses.

The MVCSoft Persistence Manager requires a version of JBoss
with local interfaces. These are supported in JBoss 2.4 and above.
Here are just some of the features that the Persistence Manager
supports:

* Swing-based mapping GUI.
* Flexible O/R mapping in terms of representing relationships with
foreign keys or relationship tables.
* The ability to load data in user-defined groups to minimize
database I/O.
* Tuned updates.
* Five different types of database locking: timestamp (optimistic),
sequence field (optimistic), field comparison (optimistic),
"select...for update" syntax (pessimistic), and complete deferral to
the database.
* Complete support for the EJB 2.0 Query Language. It will preload
data during a query to solve the "n+1" database access issue, and
you can tune the set of data that will be loaded based on the
query.
* Complete support for referential integrity rules, and for one-one,
one-many, and many-many uni- and bi-directional relationships.

Our license is per-developer, and set low enough ($199) to make it
accessible to everyone. Sell an unlimited number of your
"predeployed" EJB components with no runtime fees.
