Hi All

I'd be interested in knowing if and how people are making use of reporting tools
in J2EE environments, or are people happy using a JSP/servlet approach to
reporting?

I've done a quick trawl of the web and found tools like JReport at
http://www.jinfonet.com/ and Style Report at http://www.inetsoftcorp.com/ but
they seem prohibitively expensive.

There's also an EJB based product called Crystal-clear at
http://www.inetsoftware.de/ which seems more affordable - does anyone have
experience of this?

Are database reporting tools still relevent in an EJB multi-tier multi-server
environment - and if not what is the alternative for giving the end user some
degree of control over report generation?

Any thoughts?

Regards

Terry Child
