for audit trails am using Apache's log4j.
thats seems working good and fine in the platforms
windows NT and App ser. as Weblogic 5.1
(Which writes log, messages into File & Console).
Is the will make any prob. when we're going for diff.
plat & App servers. And what are all the app servers
which gives prob on this.

The best possible way is use a message bean, which doesn't make any
portability issues.
Direct logging to file system may cause problems in some appservers as IO
operations are
not supposed to be done from beans.
Or send some type of objects to an external RMI server which logs these
informations to a file
or DB.
