Dear All, When I first logged on this line a question was asked. If I had a 1MGbyte image file should I use a filing system or a Database say oracle. This question was directed at myself because it was a copy of my description on servlets i.e. say myhtml.html.
The answer I believe you were asking for is that images are not serializable unlike fonts which are serializable. There were all sorts of answers on this line like i.e. I got this some where else when referring to Datablades. I actually got the above answer when I was reading the instructions on RMIs. So as you can see the instructions which may appear to be silly are very important. Servlets - It only came to notice that I am good at servlets because somebody pointed that out on this line. I had actually left the line and went on my business. No body there noticed either or didn't want to notice that I may have technical & commercial exeprience. You can read the archives for your self about the answers these people gave. Paragraph 15 explains serailzable in detail. 15. If class A does not implement Serializable but a subclass B implements Serializable, will the fields of class A be serialized when B is serialized? Only the fields of Serializable objects are written out and restored. The object may be restored only if class A has a no-arg constructor that will initialize the fields of non-serializable supertypes. If the subclass has access to the state of the superclass it can implement writeObject and readObject to save and restore that state.
