Dear, beloved, fellow Java people. I can hardly contain my excitement. After months of secrecy and hard work on this effort, I can finally brag to the world one of my proudest achievements -- OpenEJB, the project I slaved on for the last two years, has been integrated into Apple's WebObjects 5.1 and was announced yesterday!
Look here and see us listed! http://www.apple.com/webobjects/techspecs.html What is OpenEJB? OpenEJB is a pre-built, self-contained, portable EJB container system that can be plugged into any application server environment. OpenEJB is also open source under a BSD-style license. For more information on OpenEJB, go to http://www.opene.org/openejb/ OpenEJB was founded by Richard Monson-Haefel and myself (David Blevins) two years ago and announced at the March 2000 O'Reilly Java Conference. The project has come a long way since then, this recent announcement is an attestment to the project's success. OpenEJB has long enjoyed small community of a few hundred, but now that OpenEJB has achieved its goal of being integrated into a major app server platform, we will be now be enjoyed by several thousands. This is truly great news for OpenEJB and the Open Source movement!
