Depending on how you define "equality". There can be several entity
instances with the exact same data (including primary key fields), but
they won't be identical since they belong to different transactions, and
possibly exist on different nodes in a cluster.

Nope. See above.

My suggestion is that you begin to read up on things. Pick up "Mastering
EJB" for example. You'll only smash your head bloody by coming up with
these questions. Sometimes a mailing list is not the best way to learn.

Or, you could pick up the spec and write an EJB server. That's what I
did. Most illuminating.
