ALthough there are some problems with open lists, I hope that this list, along witht the other Sun mailing lists will remain so. I think that it is important that people, who ever they are, have access to this kind of support group. Many of us work for small organisations who do not have the internal expertieese, we use groups such as this extensively to aid our development. The only way to ensure that genuine people are posting to services like this is to make them pay subscriptions fees, then they are forced to give you real world data about themselfs. However this kind of thing makes it hard for students and other less well paid people to participate. These are the programers of the future and also have valid input so should not be excluded.
