Hello, We have two objects, Facility & FacilityGroup that share "many to many" relationship. In other words, a Facility can belong to more than one Facility Groups and vice-versa. On the database we have a Facility table, a FacilityGroup table and a relationship table called FacilityGroupFacility.
We have created a Facility EJB and a FacilityGroup EJB and have set a "many to many" ejb-relationship on them. We DO NOT have a FacilityGroupFacility EJB. This is working out very well, but now we have to implement 'Remove Facility Group' use case. When a FacilityGroup is deleted, its associated rows from the "relationship" table should be deleted. The problem is that, as per the EJB 2.0 spec, we cannot use "Cascade Deletes" for many to many relationship. What is the best way to remove rows in relationship table? Keep in mind that when a FacilityGroup is deleted, we DO NOT want to delete the Facility, just the relationship rows! Do we have to create the FacilityGroupFacility EJB? Would EJB-QL help in any way? Please help. Thanks in advance for your help. Ajay Chitre Diligent Team, Inc.
