Which webserver are we talking about? If you're referring to the simple
embedded webserver, it doesn't have a document root. Instead it can
server files from the classpath.

By integrating Tomcat or any other servlet engine. :-) jBoss is not a
servlet engine in itself, but it has excellent capabilities in terms of
encapsulating functionality.
