Hi all, I've tried searching the archives for this, because I am told it is a common setup issue, but had no luck under usb or soundcards | sound cards.
Basically my problem is the following: I have a logitech 250 USB headphone which works fine with Gizmo and Skype, and often with Ekiga. BUT, when I use it with Ekiga it frequently drops out. When I try to close Ekiga in these circumstances, it tends to freeze, sometimes freezing the whole computer, and a reboot is required. Even if it doesn't freeze, it takes its time closing and seems to be using a fair bit of resources. If the computer doesn't freeze, other resources can't write to the device after Ekiga closes down. This problem occurs whether the headphone is set to the default sound card or not (the slow exiting/freezing). If the sound card is not default, Ekiga doesn't recognise it, though Gizmo and Skype seem to. I am using a new install of Ubuntu Etch. My other sound card is Intel 82801DB-ICH4. Any suggestions? -dan -- Daniel Paul O'Donnell, PhD Department Chair and Associate Professor of English Director, Digital Medievalist Project http://www.digitalmedievalist.org/ Chair, Text Encoding Initiative http://www.tei-c.org/ Department of English University of Lethbridge Lethbridge AB T1K 3M4 Vox +1 403 329-2377 Fax +1 403 382-7191 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] WWW: http://people.uleth.ca/~daniel.odonnell/ _______________________________________________ ekiga-list mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/ekiga-list
