Solved!!! It was Opal that was the culprit. When I grepped for libpt in the sources:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/local/src> grep -r libpt_linux * Binary file ekiga-2.0.3/src/ekiga matches ekiga-2.0.3/config.log:/usr/lib/gcc/i586-suse-linux/4.1.0/../../../../i586-suse-linux/bin/ld: warning: libpt_linux_x86_r.so.1.10.1, needed by /usr/lib//libopal.so, not found (try using -rpath or -rpath-link) something dawned upon me: I had not rebuit Opal after having deleted the old sources. When I did that, the problem disappeared. There is a morale in this, but I'm not quite sure which ;-) Anyway, thanks for your help. It is nice to know that there is somebody out there, ready to help.
