When I bought a Macbook , i thought the same, Why would apple integrate such
standards like H264 & co and not a real SIP agent ? the truth is that they
use the SIP protocol to established the Multimedia session in Ichat but all
the underlying login is done trough AIM. I guess it's impossible to make
Ichat talk real SIP . Apple should be ashamed of that , it's still their
fault and MS that Visio solutions are not standardised

Although , it's not that sexy , you should install & configure her with
Xmeeting. With H263 it could be really a great tool.

Theree is also Gizmo from sipphone people but I feel so bad for them. they
could have done a great SIP agent , but it's juts useless. they added Video
on Mac and Windows recently but I never could do anything with it , and as
it's proprietary , you don't know a damn about what's goin one

they should just stop all this although I succeed using in in audio some
times.
