documentation and found nowhere that it works likewise:

is that right? Anyway, the documentation needs to be
revised/reorganised a bit...
It would have been great if that had been written anywhere.? It also
could make sense to add a pull-down in front of the URI where users
can select the protocol?
I think it is too complicated for such a minor thing...
