I see that Ekiga version "3.3.2-0ubuntu1" is available using Synaptic
Package Manager on Ubuntu 11.10, is this the same version as referred
to? Great if it is as it saves having to build it manually.

Well, if it says 3.3.2, then it should be 3.3.2! Several distributions
already use 3.3.2.
Do you want to check expressely if it is 3.3.2?
