Is there and chance of the messages not being stored, being changed in
the upcoming version 5?

In skype (from memory, it was in the version 2.2, which was far
superior to the current version), messages could be saved, so that,
both a history of messages sent and received, was available, and, when
a message, like a contact request (I think it was named) message, was
sent to someone who was offline, when the addressee was next online,
the addressee would receive the message.
