Actually, it turns out that running `restorecon -r /` as suggested
in the ServerFault answer does indeed fix the problem reported in issue #370.

So let's keep it like this for the moment; if more trouble with SELinux
happens, I guess I'll take the shortcut you suggest and just disable it
altogether.
