There used to be a snapshot repo if you did not want to run off the master build, but it appears to be no longer used.
Judging by the commits, you are perhaps bumping into one of the few items that differs between RC1 and the master docs. The elasticsearch team are doing a better job now with versioned docs, but it looks like they are not generated them for every minor version, just the major ones.
