Does it work? after changing the {"type" : "date"}
And setting a date format -

{
      "messages" : {
        "_timestamp" : {
          "enabled" : true
        },
        "properties" : {
          "app_event_time" : {
            "type" : "date",
            "format" : "yyyy/MM/dd HH:mm:ss"
          },
          "event_time" : {
            "type" : "date",
            "format" : "yyyy/MM/dd HH:mm:ss"
          },

What could be the problem?
