After renaming my cluster from 'elastic search-demo' to the default 'elasticsearch' the connection between ES and Logstash automatically was fixed after a restart of ES.
Next question: Where do I have to change the name of the cluster, other than /etc/elasticsearch/elasticsearch.yml ?
