It is not really a limitation but rather a design decision: there is no limit on the number of documents that can fall into a bucket so we cannot have an option to return them all. However we have a top_hits aggregation that can return some of the documents that fell into the bucket: http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/search-aggregations-metrics-top-hits-aggregation.html
