Hey, looking at the Oracle JDK road map, the end of public updates for JDK 7 comes closer, it will be in April 2015.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/eol-135779.html#Java6-end-public-updates Lucene already started to test Java 9 and is finding issues like this https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCENE-6169 Now my question is, when will Elasticsearch switch to Java 8? I know it already runs on Java 8 but I mean Java 8 as the minimum requirement for source and target code of the compiler.
