A filter does not participate in scoring. But using http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/query-dsl-function-score-query.html <http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/query-dsl-function-score-query.html> you can assign a score to a filter.
