I've been a user of Kibana 3 for a while and just started my transition to
Kibana 4, and for the most part it is really awesome.

But I have one conceptual issue that perhaps I am just not understanding...
Why don't dashboards have queries like visualizations do?

It makes sense that visualizations can either leverage an existing query or
start with no query. But I just don't get why I can;t do the same thing
with dashboards?

For example, I would like to have a number of general visualizations (log
level, top terms, histogram, query results) that I would just be able to
include in a number of different dashboards, but would all be driven by
different queries.

What's the right approach here? Thanks in advance!
