Hello fellow researchers, Is there anyone here who - on short notice - will be visiting either the ARCHIVES OF THE CATHOLIC PARISH IN ELBING or the collected Catholic Archives in Regensburg (BISTUM REGENSBURG ARCHIV)?
I have a small request for him or her. I am looking for more information on my currently eldest known ancestor MICHAEL KRETSCHMANN. The only thing I know about him, is that he married in 1741 in ELBING. There is no birth-record of him in the Catholic parish records of Elbing, so he most probalby did not come from this town. However - and unfortunately I forgot to look for that - there will probably be a death-record of him. This then might reveal his age at the time of death, hence his year of birth. It might also reveal where he came from. This would greatly help me in my further research. If there is anyone who will be visiting either of the afore mentioned places and would be willing to help on the issue just described, please contact me. I'd greatly appreciate this.
