I have tried for some time now to make some sort of family tree on the German side of my family to no avail. I started with only my father (Robert O G Schulz born 1924 Elbing) as he never spoke of his times during WW2 or about his family. I did find out his mother's name (Martha Neuman) from his naturalization certificate and his father's name (Johannes Schulz) from his marriage certificate, but i still have no idea where his parents were born and so on.
I then wrote to Wast for his military history, but the only useful piece of information there was that the family lived at 72 Sonnenstr. Elbing. (Next mission is to find out if the street is still there, but probably renamed. I looked through the address books on Many Roads and found a family at 74 Sonnenstr with same last name. Coincidence? I wonder how many others are looking for lost German families like me to share experiences or even maybe provide some guidance. This is really just a record to chart any progress in my quest for information LOL.
