I will add the results of some tests I ran on last Ubuntu 11.10, 64bit. Even very old ELDKs are running flawless, with my big surprise. I have tested the following release, compiling a Kernel (ppc_8xx) and small app in user space: ELDK-2.1.10 OK (tested ppc_8xx) ELDK-3.1.1 OK (tested ppc_8xx) ELDK-4.2 OK (tested ARM) ELDK-5.0 OK (tested ARM) I cannot tell you which is the problem on Fedora 16, but at least I can state that even obsolete release are still working on (some) actual distros.
