I would only have to rebuild the compiler itself, not the libs or any packages though, those I could use form the standard ELDK tree. As I believe if the compiler is just linked against the latest libc properly it should work. Although I could of course run into issue with compiling against a new host, the gcc in ELDK 4.2 is however a lot better than the one a few versions back, so there is hope. Best would of course be to understand why this is happening and "fix" Ubuntu.. But I am at a loss at the moment, without being able to change the code.
