Neat idea.
I found that while operating stationary mobile that the KX1 sits nicely
on top of a clipboard on your lap. The rig is also small enough that
there
is lots of space around it to write notes on a paper pad attached to the
clipboard.
I used this setup to operate QRPTTF this year and even had enough
space on the clipboard for my Palm Pilot running GOLOG.
