Hi James This one by Gary Bold zl1an is excellent. Introduces you to the various letters in a well proven way then has about 900 texts you can practise on. http://www.nzart.org.nz/nzart/Exam/files/installteach202.exe Also the ARRL mp3 CW files at http://www.arrl.org/w1aw/morse.html are useful in learning morse. You can download to mp3 player and go portable Another is a new release freeware http://www.winmorse.com/ converts text directly to audio files (wav, au, aiff & txt). Conversion is fast and user can select the tone frequency (50 - 4000Hz), wpm rate (any) and either Std Morse, ARRL Farnsworth or Your Choice of spacing. You paste the text into the Window and press Convert. Prosigns and non English letters recognised and converted! Extensive and informative Help Files. I have used Goldwave to further convert the wav files to mp3 for playing on mp3 a player as an aid to learning to "reading morse in my head". (Work in progress) If you want a device then the MFJ 418 might be worth a look at. I have one and it seems to work fine. QSOs and callsigns are all usa orientated Regards 73 Nigel ZL2DF ----------------- Nigel Hayton New Plymouth New Zealand [EMAIL PROTECTED] K2 #03029 _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
